Corporation shall speak destruction unto demolition contractor

NATION may have spoken peace unto nation in the past, but whatever else may be going on in the BBC, one legacy of the Corporationís occupation of Woodhouse Lane premises is due to be shattered before long.
The embossed concrete representation of the Nation shall speak Peace unto Nation arms on the building will be destroyed when the more modern parts of the building are demolished.

BBC managers confirmed that thought was given to trying to save the edifice, but the panel is an integral part of a wall.

So, the cost of moving it to either the new St Peterís Square building or to the National Museumof Photography, Film and Television in Bradford would have been prohibitive.

The facade was one of the newest parts of the Woodhouse Lane studio complex, not built until the 1980s.
